Opened 2016, a two-level store at the Waikiki Trade Center in Honolulu. Located in a vibrant travel and surfing destination required a bespoke approach to my Environmental design work for the store. Working with local artist Lauren Roth to add localization to the environmental visual elements, a neighborhood sense of belonging was created, driving social media engagement opportunities in the store. An open to structure street level lobby provided a unique opportunity to create an installation of customized suspended surfboards with illustrated waves patterns and an entry feature wall with tropical Hawaiian leaf backdrop with illuminated Rack signage. Hawaiian leaf & hibiscus relief patterns were also incorporated into interior wall panels and 'Aloha' escalator wall. The project also involved unique 'bilingual' wayfinding in Japanese.
